We are wrapping up week 14 of the Second Street Project and the finish line is in sight. The project remains on schedule with completion estimated for the first part of June.
The last panel of the concrete street section was poured on Thursday April 24th. The remaining concrete work includes the stamped concrete crosswalks, sidewalks and curb and gutter in a small section on the west end. The sidewalks will be poured on the east end between May 12th and 15th (library end) and the west end on May 19th and May 22nd. The paver installation for the plaza area will begin in May and last approximately three weeks. Landscaping installation (by our own Langley Main Street!) will begin during the first half of May along with installation of the parking wayfinding signage, pathway markers, and the finish work on the plaza seat walls.
The entrance to the post office from Second Street will be closed starting Monday April 28th for two weeks and will reopen on May 13th. During this period of time the post office may be accessed from the entrance from Third Street. The street will remain closed for the next several weeks to thru traffic.
