The City Council approved the contract for the Second Street Project at the meeting on Monday, December 2nd. The contractor for this project will be SRV Construction out of Oak Harbor. We will be holding our pre-construction meeting on December 18th to review the schedule of work in order to provide the most accurate and timely information to residents and business owners before and during construction. The construction is expected to begin soon after the New Year with completion in approximately 100 days (estimated completion in May).
This site will have the most up to date information throughout the project and for those of you on twitter you can get updates by following designlangley. We will be conducting a neighborhood meeting prior to the start of construction to brief residents and business owners on the construction schedule, provide contact information and address any questions or concerns – stayed tuned for the date of the meeting. We have also established a business owner contact email list and will send out weekly updates during construction. Others that are interested in receiving the weekly updates may sign up by entering their email address below. The city will be working with the Langley Main Street Association to promote the downtown area and businesses during construction to make sure people know we are open for businesses during construction and to come down and see the exciting transformation of Second Street. The city very much appreciates the time and effort that many have put into the design and planning process to get us to this point.
