SECOND STREET PROJECT

The time has come to launch the Second Street Project to redesign Second Street between Anthes Avenue and Cascade Avenue.  The first step in the process is putting out a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for consultants to assist in the design process, permitting and engineering.  A draft Scope of Work has also been developed that defines the general project approach and public involvement process.  We look forward to utilizing innovative and interactive ways to involve the public and facilitate a community based design process.  Before the project officially kicks off in March 2011 don’t hesitate to send your thoughts and ideas on how we can make this project a success for the community.  Please use the form below to send comments.  Comments will go directly to Jeff Arango, Community Planner and will NOT be posted on this site.

UPDATE: Development Ordinance Review by the City Council

At the City Council meeting last night the council voted unanimously to proceed to the second reading on the following proposals:  Wharf Street Overlay Height Modification, Amendments to the standards on Accessory Dwelling Units and Tree Protection Standards during Construction.  The second reading is scheduled for the December 19th Meeting.

The other three proposals the Planning Advisory Board has recommended to the council for adoption on Affordable Housing, Innovative Mixed-Use Development and Electric Vehicle Charging Stations are still undergoing legal review and will be placed on a future council agenda once the review is complete.
